Accurately reproduced down to the finest details, the U.S.S. Sacramento is one of the most well-known AOE fast combat support ships. It was commissioned in 1964 by the United States Navy to replenish the supplies of other ships and all of the exterior necessities to provide those supplies are represented in the U.S.S. Sacramento plastic model kit. Twin propellers that gave the ship enough speed to keep up with a destroyer escort are visible under the ship while it also includes two CH-46 Sea Knight Helicopters to help search and patrol the surrounding area. The logically ordered 12 page instruction booklet identifies how to assemble each part of the model ship, and an included full-color painting and marking guide indicates and illustrates how to make the Sacramento plastic model look just like the actual ship during the Vietnam War.

To allow experienced modelers to construct the most highly detailed U.S.S. Independence model possible, a sheet of gold photo-etched pieces are included for finishing off the cranes, helicopters, radars, and even the included forklift that sits by the cargo doors on the flight deck. Modelers who want to bring even more authenticity to this model ship kit can challenge themselves by filling in details under the flight deck or by finding a realistic way to add hoses to each of the 3000 gallons per minute fuel pumps. Final assembly options give modelers the choice of displaying the waterline or full-hull version of the fully constructed Sacramento plastic model kit. Once completed, the U.S.S. Independence model can be displayed on the included stand complete with a name plate.
