The M1151 Enhanced Armament Carrier is an upgraded version of the standard Humvee used by the U.S. Armed Forces. While many HMMWVs featured various attachments, the Academy M1151 model armor kit has a .50 caliber gun on a top-mounted turret that is very well-protected. The .50 caliber gun requires extensive assembly, making it a truly genuine reproduction of the original, while even the heavily reinforced windows have various pieces for assembly. Multi-stage assembly steps of even smaller details give the HMMWV model kit its incredible bulletproof appearance. Each piece of armor is cleanly molded with rivets and panel lines, but modelers are responsible for many of the finer details, such as tow hooks, tools, and gas cans around the exterior of the model armor kit.

A detailed interior has knobs to attach to the dashboard and cleanly molded gauges and dials, while the exterior features a snorkel exhaust system for fording across waterways. Its plastic molded wheel halves secure around the rims for the authentic rugged look of the HMMWV M1151 model armor kit. The painting and decal guide identifies a tan version of the model armor kit with decals, but there is also a diagram of how to give it a camouflage paint job along with the two soldier figures. This heavily armored M1151 plastic model kit has a spare tire that swings out, positionable doors, and the rear hatch can be left open or completely removed depending on what type of battlefield it is entering.
