Early armored vehicles and tanks proved to be quite effective during World War II, but as the plastic tank and armor models here illustrate, many advancements in technology allowed them to evolve into game changing fixtures on the battlefield. Various options are included in the model armor kits from every era, so modelers can choose to leave optional hatches open, rotate the turret and pose the cannon barrel a certain way, or assemble a tank with either one-piece flexible treads or even construct the treads one plastic track at a time for the perfect appearance. Many of the model tank kits even include photo-etched parts, such as hooks and grilles, to give them an even more realistic appearance when fully assembled.
Armored vehicles transitioned from being basic troop transports to taking on multi-functional roles. Depending on how some of the model kits are assembled, a tank can be assembled as a mine sweeping vehicle and an armored transport can be a mobile command center. More advanced skill levels of the model tank kits allow modelers to build and provide optimal views into the engine compartments or full crew quarters. Modelers also have the option of incorporating some scale model soldier figures into a scene with the completed model armor kits, or simply painting them for use as wargaming figures. No matter which model armor kit one chooses, it will provide an accurate look into the military technology of that era.
